Health Care

HoPe is in several ways active in the Peruvian Health Care, always joined up with local departments of the Ministry of Health and Human Services. Goal is to make the health care accessible for the poorest and to grade up the quality of the care.




Mental healthcare
"Salud Mental" is a psychiatric institute in a suburb of Cusco. Since 2002 HoPe takes care of the creative therapy for approximately 200 patients.

Burn victim unit
In the Regional Hospital of Cusco HoPe cares for one of its oldest projects. In the past years the department has been completely renovated. HoPe runs a recreational program for the cildren of this ward and a physiotherapy program. Each year dozens of patients with serious to severe bruns are supported by HoPe.

Medical post Patacancha
Since July 2007, the little village in the mountains, Patacancha - a 2.5 hours drive from Cusco - has a Medical Post. This post is close to the High School that also has been set up with the Support of Hope. As people in this area needed to walk for hours to get medical help, this post is of vital importance.

Incidental support
HoPe also supports patients who cannot afford regular healthcare. The one condition for these patients in that they are directly connected in some way to one of the other programs supported by HoPe.
