Who are we?

Life at 4,000 meters above sea level in the Andes mountains of Peru is difficult. Glacial winds whip the faces of the Indians who live here and only lamas and winter resistant potatoes survive the climate. But if these Indians move to the big city, their fates become even more miserable as they then inevitably end up in the slums.

Objective of the HoPe Foundation

The HoPe Foundation strives to give highland Indians the opportunity to empower themselves to improve their own standards of living. HoPe only begins projects if the community so desires and if they participate to the fullest extent possible. It is essential that the Peruvian authorities become involved in the execution of the projects and that what is achieved is self-maintained by the community when the project is complete.
